What is card stock? How much thicker than normal paper is it?
I've seen some designs I like but don't know if I can use it for a scrapbook?
Cardstock is ANY paper and or card you have. It's an American term we've adpoted over here!!
Card and paper comes in various weights and thicknesses.
It's gauged in GSM that's grams per square metre, the higher the number, the thicker the card
For example, your average printer paper is around 80gsm and card for say greeting card standard is around 200-225gsm
For scrapbooking it is VERY important you look for paper that is lignen and acid free. That means that the harmful substances won't damage your photos and keepsakes. Paper that has lignen or acids in it can cause discolouration and staining. To be safe only buy paper and card from a reputable scrapbooking site or look for acid/lignen free on the pack. Hope this helps. My mother has been scrapbooking for over 30 years
