Windows 98 + Font Problems?
I've been collecting fonts for a while now, and have never had an issue with installing them. Since I have collected so many, I decided to use a font organizer for them.
So I moved a bunch of extra fonts from my windows font folder into a storage folder to save some space. Now I can't add any new fonts, regardless of how many fonts I remove (it says that there are too many fonts, yet there are less than I used to have, and be able to install).
I am wondering if it is an issue with windows 98? We are hoping to go to 2000 very soon, as I am getting fed up with the 98 issues.
Is there anything I can do to use my fonts? I work with graphics, crafts, card making (etc), and need to use these fonts. I have tried 4 different font organizers and viewers, and none work (the Ampsoft one used to temporarily install the fonts, so I could use them without worrying about installing them into the windows font folder - it now doesn't work at all).
Any help? I would greatly appreciate it!
Wow! this is a unique problem. I also save my downloaded fonts and burn them to a cd to be installed on other computers, but I never had this problem. I believe windows have certain registered fonts that should never be remove, such as "Courier".
Some true type fonts can be uninstalled with no problem. But if you deleted a registered font that windows needs, you might have a problem. You might want to try drag and drop the fonts folder to the windows directory from the installation disk, but it might cause your computer to crash. Perhaps someone else here can shed some light on this dilemma.
